016: Snack Sunday, or Crunchy Focaccia Bread Sticks

016: Snack Sunday, or Crunchy Focaccia Bread Sticks

We were supposed to have roasted chickpeas this week, and then we were supposed to have chocolate chip cookies, but right before recording, Kelsea decided that she needed even more carbs than usual, so she took some bread dough that she had in the fridge, and made these crunchy focaccia bread sticks.

Kelsea keeps King Arther’s (her favorite flour brand - why is that a thing the she has?!?) No-Knead Sourdough Bread dough in her fridge at nearly all times, which makes excellent bread for slicing and making grilled cheese sandwiches, but she had plenty of bread in the house, and dough to use up, so she came up with this snack.

Use about 1/3 of a batch of the dough, and flatten it into a thick circle on a pizza pan. Use your fingertips to create little divots in the dough, and cover it in olive oil. Let it rise for a bit - Kelsea picked up Riley and came back to the house, so about 45 minutes - and then cover it in spices and bake. We used salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasonings, red pepper flakes, and parm cheese from the container, and baked it at 450 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Once out of the oven, we sliced these into sticks, and served with pizza sauce and olive oil with some fresh garlic, salt, and pepper for dipping. So much yum! And the leftovers were great as croutons in some leftover tomato soup!
