Isn’t that gorgeous?!? It was pretty damn easy, too! Here’s how we did it:

Make waffles according to package directions. To make them ombre, add a smidge more food coloring to each waffle, from waffle number 2 to waffle number 4. Waffles brown on the outside, so it’ll be hard to see their colors, but when you cut into it, it’ll definitely be there!

Make buttercream frosting. Soften 2 sticks of unsalted butter to room temp. (Kelsea loves the ‘soften’ feature on her microwave, but has to use it twice to get the best temp!). Throw them in a kitchenaid mixer with the whip attachment and beat them until the butter is soft and fluffy and white. Once your butter starts to whip up, add powdered sugar by the 1/4 cup until the frosting is sweet enough for you - we ended up using about 1 1/4 cups of powdered sugar. If you’re having trouble getting your frosting to fluff up or need it to be a little less thick, add a T of milk or whipping cream at a time until it’s the consistancy you want,

It’s Galentine’s Day, Kelsea’s favorite day of the year! So, in honor of this most special of days, we’re bringing you a double episode, with a long blog post, celebrating the whole she-bang at once. (Heh. That’s what she said.)

Make it a cake! Put your darkest color waffle on top, spread about 1/3 of the frosting on, and layer until you’ve got four! We piped frosting onto our top layer, decorated with our favorite sprinkles, and then drizzled a bit of real maple syrup on top.

For our product this week, we totally forgot to get pics, but we featured the CBD gummies from Pot and Pan Kitchen on Forest Ave, in Portland, ME. We lost a few episodes to the ether, so we’d already eaten them, but they were amazing. Tangerine and pomegranate flavored, they helped to calm the anxiety and ease the pain of all the household shuffling we’ve been going through.

We also decided that we needed to celebrate Galentine’s Day by exchanging some gifts, and we did a really good job. Matching ‘Best’ and ‘Friends’ mugs, new stash bags each, unintentionally matching bandanas, and some silly gifts that just make us smile.

Talk about ladies celebrating ladies!
